(Na,K)AlSiO₄

This sample of nepheline is displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Nepheline is a silicate mineral containing five of the big 8 elements with the composition (Na,K)AlSiO₄. The sample at left is about 8 cm across and is from Cancrinite Hill, Bancroft, Ontario, Canada.
