Hg₂N(Cl,SO₄).nH₂O

This sample of kleinite is displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Kleinite is a sulfate mineral of mercury, chlorine and nitrogen. It has the composition Hg₂N(Cl,SO₄).nH₂O. The sample at left is about 10 cm across and is from McDermitt mine, Humboldt County, Nevada.
