LiAlSi₂O₆.H₂O

This sample of bikitaite is displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Bikitaite is a silicate mineral of lithium with the composition LiAlSi₂O₆.H₂O. The sample at left is about 18 cm across and is from Foote Mineral Co. spodumene mine, Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
